Sourdough bread can last between 4-6 days.
There are so many ways you can store a loaf:
- in a bread bin;
- in a beeswax wrap;
- in a cotton bag
Please, don’t place the bread in the fridge because it will make it super hard and will last less days :)
Freezing your bread:
You can freeze the bread as single slices or as a whole in a freezer bag.
- Single slice: to keep the bread as fresh as possible, simply toast it from frozen
- Whole loaf: leave it on the counter overnight and either eat it fresh or warm it up for 5-10 minutes in the oven 160°C.
Travelled all the way from London to get this deliciously tasty Sourdough bread and Olive bread and the mouth watering morning buns as treats😊. Let me say the morning buns couldn't last the journey back. It was so moist and soft inside with a yet sweet glaze on the outside😍 Got a nice stock of the bread and put some in the freezer to keep them for a longer period. The bread was absolutely fantasic and SO DELICIOUS!!! It kept it's great crust with it's nice and chewy center. Can't wait to get another batch. Simply the best quality bread and pastry!
My goodness, bread doesn't get much better than this. I had 4 sensational sourdough loaves delivered to my door, accompanied by some hazelnut and cinnamon buns and it would be impossible to pick a favourite. Clearly top quality ingredients, and oh wow, the freshness was incredible. I live in Hastings, so had to have it delivered otherwise I'd be at their market stall every day! Thank you Artisan Loaf Makers for sending me the best bread I've ever tasted!!!
Best sourdough bread and focaccia you can have! Our favourite bread is the olive one without a doubt.To say the chocolate and walnut cake is delicious is just an understatement. My daughter loves the seeded crackers! Would eat them all in one go if she was allowed 😂
I have been buying Artisan Loaf Makers' bread since they opened and it has consistently been superb. Their focaccia is the best I have tasted and the cinnamon rolls are just delicious. Their seasonal goodies are excellent too. I love how the bread freezes beautifully so that I can have a slice or 4 whenever I choose!

Micro-bakery owner
Ciao a tutti! 👋🏻😊 We're Tania, Meylis, and Celeste — the family behind your local sourdough micro-bakery, now based in Reading.
Our journey started in our little home kitchen in Winnersh, where we began baking sourdough for friends and neighbours, simply out of passion and love for good food. What began as a small family project quickly grew into something bigger, thanks to the incredible support of our local community.
Born and raised in Italy, food has always been the heart of my life. My happiest memories are of my family gathered around food, and my nonna 🧓🏻 teaching us how to knead dough for bread, pizza, calzoni, and fresh pasta.
Today, we have taken the leap into a dedicated commercial space in Reading, where we continue to bake our sourdough slowly and naturally, staying true to our roots and commitment to quality.
Our dream is simple: to bring people together through tasty, nourishing, honest food made with care.
Feel free to get in touch if you’d like to know more — or just to chat about bread!
